Fall is almost here so pumpkin inspired beer are starting to pop up again. Cisco Brewers does a great job with their Pumple Drumkin beer, a pumpkin inspired beer that has us excited every year for the Fall. Like a pumpkin this beer has a golden brownish/orange color when it’s poured in to a glass and has a thin foam. On the nose it is very spicy with a complex array of notes including nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, clove and ginger. On the palate it is similar with a very spicy taste and a delicious pumpkin flavor. It has no bitterness and has nice carbonation. At 6.0% it is a good medium bodied ale great for the transition into the fall.

This is an exquisite wine produced in the famous Napa Valley in California. This Cabernet Sauvignon vintage 2012 was named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, Artemis. This blend was made fromb fruit grown for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars by independent growers all across the Napa Valley. Each growers grapes lends its personality to the flavor, aroma, flavor and texture of the wine. On top of that a small amount of Merlot grapes and Malbec grapes were blended with the Cabernet Sauvignon to create more complexity. This wine was aged for 18 months in a combination French and American oak. The aroma is filled with plum and black cherry with hints of vanilla. On the palate it begins soft and has plum and ripe mixed berry flavors. It has a medium-bodied mouthfeel with satin-like tannins. A great wine to enjoy with meat dishes or pasta.
