Summer is here and it’s sunny, hot and a great time to enjoy some creative and delicious summer drinks. Here are 5 awesome, easy summer drinks you can make at home with a few ingredients.

Gin & Tonic

gty_gin_tonic_kb_130621_wblogFill glass with ice, add 3 ounces of gin and 1/2 an ounce of lime juice. Add 4 ounces of tonic water and stir. Add a fresh lime wedge to garnish the drink. Enjoy.

  • 3 ounces of gin (6 tablespoons)
  • 4 ounces of tonic water (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 ounce of lime juice (1 tablespoon)
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Ice

Tom Collins

tom-collins(85)Fill a tall glass or collins glass with ice,  add 2 ounces of gin, 1/2 an ounce of lemon juice and 1/2 an ounce of simple syrup and stir. Top the it off with club soda. Add a lemon wedge for garnish if you wish. Enjoy.

  • 2 ounces of gin (4 tablespoons)
  • 1/2 ounce of simple syrup (1 tablespoon)
  • 1/2 ounce of lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • club soda
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • ice

Frozen Margarita

frozen-margaritaBlend 5 cups of ice in a blender, add 3/4 cup of of tequila, 2/3 cup lime juice and 1/2 cup of simple syrup. Blend all ingredients until smooth. If you wish to salt the margarita glasses, pour a layer of salt on a plate or cutting board, moisten each glass rim with lime juice and dip the rim of each glass in the salt. Pour blended mixture into glass and add a lime wedge for garnish. Enjoy.

  • 5 cups of ice cubes
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 2/3 cup lime juice
  • 1/3 cup coarse salt
  • 1/2 cup Simple Syrup
  • 1 lime wedge

Manhattan

manhattan_cocktailIn a mixing glass add 2 ounces of rye whiskey, 1/2 an ounce of sweet vermouth, 2 dashes of bitters and ice. Stir well and strain mixture into a glass with ice. Add a cherry for garnish or orange peel.

  • 1/2 ounce of sweet vermouth (1 tablespoon)
  • 2 ounces rye whiskey (4 tablespoons)
  • 1 Maraschino cherry for garnish
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • cracked ice

Cosmopolitan

Cosmopolitan-drinkIn a shaker add 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of cointreau liqueur, 2 teaspoons of lime juice and 1 ounce of cranberry juice and ice. Shake well. Strain the mixture into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge if you wish. Enjoy.

  • 1 1/2 ounces of lemon vodka (3 tablespoons)
  • 1 ounce of Cointreau liqueur (2 tablespoons)
  • 1 ounce of cranberry juice (2 tablespoons)
  • 2 teaspoons of lime juice
